Pip & Ant’s Vintage-Punk Fusion Ceremony in an Old Theatre in Ancoats

After a crazy 16 week run of back to back weddings, Alternative Weddings Mcr are finally able to look back over the amazing events we’ve been part of this year. 2018 has been very busy and celebrant Stef has visited quite a few new venues she’s never been to before, working alongside lots of brilliant couples who she can now firmly call her friends.

First up, are the amazing Pip and Ant, who got married at Hope Mill Theatre back in June. Pip’s a vintage glamour gal through and through and Ant is a pure Manc lad by birth. They both love music and having lived in the Northern Quarter for almost a decade are pretty damn hip (you just soak it up by osmosis it seems!) Pip and Ant love nothing more than craft beers, punk bands and 60’s psychedelia, so bringing all these elements together in a wedding ceremony was a lot of fun. The playlists alone were amazing!

Pip and Ant originally had a friend of theirs booked to conduct their ceremony, but when they couldn’t make it with only a couple of months to go, Stef (who was already planning their wedding) stepped in at the last minute and wrote and delivered a personalised wedding ceremony with only weeks to spare.

Pip entered to The Beatles ‘Here Comes The Sun’ and she and her new husband triumphantly exited to ‘This Will Be Our Year’ by The Zombies. The vibe of their wedding couldn’t have been more upbeat with readings and sentiments that matched their lifestyles and outlooks perfectly.

Pip looked incredible in a gorgeous full length satin wedding dress, that billowed out behind her and made her look like a Hollywood star. She carried flowers designed by Alternative Weddings MCR (complimenting her vintage look and fiery auburn hair) in shades of peach, burnt orange, pale pinks and lilac. She couldn’t have looked more radiant!

It was such a lovely day and Pip and Ant’s family and friends were a warm and hilarious bunch of people, then, after the ceremony, Stefanie slipped back into wedding planner mode to make sure everything ran smoothly behind the scenes.

You can always tell when it’s been a good wedding for us because you’ll find us (once the last food has been served and the party is in full swing) dancing at the front with the rest of the guests….long after the time we were supposed to go home. This was one of those weddings and we can only thank Pip and Ant for letting us be part of it.
